SWARNANEWS.CO.ID, KUNINGAN | Upacara adat Seren Taun 1951S memasuki hari kedua di mana digelar pesta dadung yang berlokasi di area hutan Kota, Mayasih, Cigugur-Kuningan, Jawa Barat, Kamis (30/7/2018). Acara tersebut diikuti oleh ribuan warga mulai dari anak-anak hingga orang tua.

Ketua Umum Kegiatan Seren Taun, Dewi Kanti kepada awak media mengatakan, tradisi tersebut dilakukan secara turun temurun bertujuan untuk mengingatkan bahwa peran dari petani dan anak gembala terhadap pertanian sangat penting.

Sambungnya, pesta dadung juga upaya merevitalisasi kearifan asli luhur sunda lebih menekankan ritual adatnya. Pada prinsipnya ritual tersebut ialah membuang hama tanaman.

“Kami mempercayai tempat ini adalah penyempurnaan dari beberapa energi negatif. Hama tanaman padi kita tidak bunuh tapi kita ajak dialog bahwa semua mahluk hidup ada manfaatnya,” ucapnya.

Disinggung adanya seribu kentongan, Dwi menambahkan, kentongan simbol bertanda juga sebagai semangat dan kesadaran. “Kenapa kita tabuh yakni sebagai spirit kewaspadaan atau kesiagaan kita selalu mengingat akan jati diri agar tidak kehilangan tradisi karena sesuai dengan tema untuk memperkokoh karakter bangsa.
