SWARNANEWS.CO.ID, PALEMBANG | Perhelatan turnamen bola voli terakbar di tanah air Pro Liga 2020 akan mulai dihelat akhir pekan ini. Seri pembuka akan berlangsung di Pekan Baru Riau. Sejumlah kontestan sudah meluncurkan tim yang akan bertanding, termasuk tim Palembang Bank Sumsel Babel (PBS) yang tahun ini mengincar target juara.

Tahun lalu PBS hanya mampu bertengger di peringkat keempat final four. Perubahan drastis dilakukan mulai dari pelatih hingga pemain. Tim yang pernah dijuliki Si Bayi Ajaib ini, terakhir kali merengkuh juara Pro Liga tahun 2013 silam. Tidak heran jajaran direksi Bank Sumsel Babel menargetkan bisa juara.

Menurut Direktur Utama Bank Sumsel Babel Achmad Syamsudin, dalam rangka mengarungi perhelatan Kompetisi Bola Voli Proliga Tahun 2020 ini, Alhamdulillah Bank Sumsel Babel telah memiliki komposisi tim baru. “Yang diarsiteki oleh pelatih yang tidak asing lagi, yang pernah melatih tim ini yakni Bapak Mashudi.”

Sebelumnya Bank Sumsel Babel telah melakukan seleksi kepada 17 orang pemain dari berbagai klub selama 3 (Tiga) hari yang dimulai dari tanggal 16 Desember 2019. Dan pada tanggal 19 Desember 2019 yang lalu, telah diperoleh 12 orang pemain lokal dan 2 (Dua) orang Pemain asing yakni Carlos Alberto Arraujo Scrull yang berasal dari Kuba, yang mulai ikut berlatih bersama sejak 27 Desember 2019 lalu. Sedangkan untuk 1 orang pemain asing lain, berasal dari Belanda.

“Sebagai bentuk kesiapan, Tim Palembang Bank Sumsel Babel hingga saat ini masih melakukan Training Camp di Padepokan voli Jendral Kunarto Sentul Bogor,” terangnya saat launching tim di Jakarta Kemarin.

Ini adalah merupakan keikutsertaan Bank Sumsel Babel yang ke-11 kalinya, yang dimulai sejak tahun 2009 hingga saat ini. “Kami bangga pernah menjadi juara pada kompetisi yang bergengsi ini sebanyak 2 kali (Tahun 2011 dan 2013). Saya dan segenap manajemen Bank Sumsel Babel berharap, semoga dengan susunan baru tim Bola Voli Putra Palembang Bank Sumsel Babel pada ajang Proliga tahun 2020 ini, tentunya dengan semangat yang baru, dapat merebut dan membawa pulang kembali tropi bola voli Proliga ke Bumi Sriwijaya,” jelasnya.

Tim ini akan diperkuat Gunawan Saputra, Bang Bang Suharto, I Made Adhi Suartama, I Nyoman Julianta, I Made Vandim Sanjaya Putra, Amin Kurnia Sandi Akbar, Carlos Alberto Araujo Scrull, Arswendo, Dicky Berliando, Fahri Septian Putratama, Akmal Alamsyah, Abdurrachman Sidik, Kaula Nurhidayat, dan Tumen Lukas Marie.

Setelah hampir enam tahun tak meraih gelar juara, pada musim ini Palembang BSB kembali memakai jasa Mashudi. Klub berharap, pendiri Samator Surabaya itu bisa mengembalikan kejayaan Bayi Ajaib di Proliga 2020.
